COME OUT AND HAVE A MEAL AND BEAT VAN LOAN AT THIS OWN GAME!
Are you guys going to let PVL out-eat you? How about taking a haddock for the Cynthia cause? There was a time in this country, says fish & chips chef Daniel Clark, when a husband and wife would ride for two hours in a buggy to vote in an election.
Clark owns the New Wave Café in Keswick, on Lake Simcoe.
“You buy a meal, you get a ballot,” Clark explains. “For every meal that you buy, you get one vote, so if you want to come back and vote 10 or 15 times, you can do that. If you want to vote once, that’s fine, too.”
One ballot allows a diner to vote for both a federal leader and local York-Simcoe candidate.
The restaurant staff is not neutral but that’s a good thing, Clark says. He votes Conservative and his father-in-law Liberal. In monitoring each other, they keep the poll honest.

Community Members in Bradford and Jerome our young Liberal in the middle

I am your liberal Candidate for York-Simcoe, Cynthia Wesley-Esquimaux. I am a resident of Georgina Island in Lake Simcoe and have spent considerable time over the years advocating on local issues.

I’m running because of my concerns for our riding and where the conservative government is taking our country. Running for Parliament is a first time effort for me, but I think the future of this country is important enough for me to stand up and ask for your support.

I bring an inclusive and deeply committed voice to representing the people that live in York-Simcoe.  I have spent the past year and a half carefully examining current policies and government directions and feel we have to stand together to protect our democracy and ensure that we return integrity, transparency, and accountability to our federal government.

There has been an incredible amount of money spent over the past 5 years through so-called stimulus pay-outs which not only spent the 13 billion dollar surplus the liberal party left in the federal coffers, but also spent additional monies before the recession in Canada even began.  As a riding we must stop the waste of taxpayer money and environmental damage done through Mr. Van Loan’s never-ending mail-outs and wasteful self-serving messaging.  It never ends, even when people call his office and ask for it to stop, he keeps mailing and mailing our tax money to us with HIS FACE on the front instead of the Queen of England, the face I understand most of us would rather see.

We must stop the fiscal bleeding that is occurring in our government, we must stop the secrecy and the lies, and we must re-balance the books for every Canadian who pays a high percentage of their hard earned money as taxation dollars.

We must all vote and encourage others to do the same, and mutually ensure that we have a responsible and responsive government who takes our needs and our vision of this wonderful country to heart.

Tragically, over the last five years we have lost our respected place as peacekeeper and admired member of the global community.  The Liberal Party will work hard to restore our reputation as a global partner, not only in economic terms, but in humanitarian and civil partnerships as well.

Yes, we as citizens of Canada have some hard questions to ask and to answer, and I am ready to listen to you and to bring your needs for fiscal balance and national security to a prudent, accountable and renewed Liberal Government of Canada.   Thank you…
